idigAka


In this keertana, Annamaiah praises the greatness of Adi Lakshmi who did penance and secured the most coveted place in her Lord's heart. He adds that her joy was transformed to spiritual state after she surrendered to her compassionate Lord.

 idi gAka soubhAgya midi gAka tapamu mari
idigAka vaibhavambika nokaTi kaladA ||
Is anything more prosperous? Is there any other penance greater? Is there any other splendor greater?

 ativa janmamu saphala mai parama yOgi vale
itara mOhApEksha lanniyunu viDiche
sati kOrikalu mahA Santamai ide chooDa
satata vijnAna vAsana vOle nunDe ||
Lakshmi performed penance like a supreme yogi, rejecting all illusive desires and obtained the supreme fruit of her life. Her great equanimity itself radiates wisdom.

 taruNi hrudayamu krutArdhata pondi vibhu meedi
paravaSa manda sampadaku niravAya
sarasijAnana manO jaya mandi intalO
sari lEka manasu niSchala bhAva mAya ||
That lady's desire was fulfilled and she became the wealth of his heart. Lakshmi, the lotus born, won her heart's desire and became serene.

Sree vEnkaSwaruni chintinchi paratatva
bhAvambu nijamugA baTTe cheli Atma
dEvOttamuni krupAdheenu rAlai ipuDu
lAvaNya vatiki nullambu diramAya||
She meditated upon the spiritual nature of Sri Venkatesa. She surrendered herself to the grace of the great lord. That gentle lady's mind remained unwavering.
